Wearable product engineering

From the brief
to the bench.

Hulin brings product definition, structure, electronics, firmware and connected software into one development brief. The engineering scope and partner responsibilities are agreed around what the product needs to become.

Start a Project
01 / Define

Start with the right questions.

A new concept, existing electronics or a product ready for its next iteration. Agree use cases, system architecture, design responsibility and the evidence needed next.

Supplied engineering workbench photograph with compact populated circuit boards, a microscope stand and connected equipment.

02 / Prototype

Put the decisions
into physical form.

Prototypes make relationships testable: where parts fit, how the electronics behave, and how the connected experience comes together.

Supplied compact wearable PCBA render showing component placements, routing and connection pads.

Form changes the electronics.

Wearing position, enclosure geometry and contact surfaces influence board layout, component placement and the space available for power and connectivity.

Behavior changes the power budget.

Sensing, recording, display activity, wireless transfers and background processing need to be considered together, rather than optimized in isolation.

Interfaces define the whole product.

Device states, firmware behavior, mobile interactions and backend services need clear boundaries so each team is building toward the same experience.

03 / Validate

Evidence before
the next decision.

Validation is planned around the product’s risks and intended use. The review has to connect physical samples, firmware versions and the behavior being evaluated.

EVT
Engineering validation: evaluate functions and integration on development hardware.
DVT
Design validation: review the design against the agreed product and use requirements.
PVT
Production validation: coordinate production-readiness activities with the manufacturing partner.

Stages, test scope and acceptance criteria are agreed per project. The photograph is a testing-equipment reference, not evidence of completed validation.

04 / Transfer

The design travels
with its decisions.

What is delivered, which version moves forward and who supports the next step belong in the same conversation.

Supplied SMT production-environment reference showing assembly equipment along a factory aisle.

Product definition
Requirements, architecture and the decisions that define the product.
Engineering package
Agreed mechanical, hardware and firmware deliverables, with clear version boundaries.
Connected experience
Application interfaces, device behavior and service integration within the agreed scope.
Partner coordination
Industrial design, manufacturing and supply-chain coordination where the project calls for it.

Product definition, structure, hardware, PCBA, firmware and connected software within the agreed scope.

Partner coordination

Industrial design, manufacturing and supply-chain activities may involve partners. Production and handover responsibilities are defined with the project.
